Thaddeus Lowe

Here is a link to the animated film that Kelly Jones did for her senior thesis. (Kelly is narrating; John Canavan provides all other voices.) She is now working for Nickelodeon in New York on a new production called "Team Umizoomi," a preschool show which will air January 26, 2009 on Nick Jr.

A Man of Contradiction

Johnny Cash is hard to pin down. A man of contradiction, he epitomized the soul of his nation...more.

Georgeann Wade

There will be a memorial service for Georgeann Wade, former spouse of Phi Beauford, this Friday, noon, at Tenth.

English Help

There is a woman in our Sunday morning English/Bible class who is looking for a native English speaker who for the next three weeks could give some time to her just to chat and correct her English for an hour or so. Daily would be best. She is taking the TOEFL exam and is concerned about passing the verbal part. I believe she would be willing to go to someone's house for this. She lives around 16th and Walnut. This is a wonderful opportunity. This woman came to our class about a two months ago having been in the US for only two weeks. She is from China. Her husband is an MBA student at Wharton. Her English is decent but needs a bit of correction at times. It would be a way to begin to develop another relationship with a Christian. Contact Debbie, langford12@verizon.net.

Saturday Luncheon Canceled

The speaker for Saturday's men/boys luncheon, Andy Studebaker, was picked up on Tuesday by the Kansas City Chiefs. We are excited that Andy is getting his chance to play in the NFL and we wish him well.

As a result we have decided to cancel the pizza luncheon planned for this Saturday. We are sorry if this causes any inconvenience. Please pass the word on and we will be planning a future event shortly.

"Love Bundles" Needed

Make “Love Bundles” for the next Community Dinner. ACTS needs ziplock bags containing one each of the following: deodorant soap, deodorant, wash cloth, face towel, toothpaste, toothbrush and candy cane--60 for men and 60 for women. For children, the same, but with liquid soap and another bag with bubbles, lollipop, balloon and candy cane. Please leave them in Tenth's mailroom prior to December 14.

Tenth Organists Concert

Don't forget the Tenth concert this Friday night at 7:30. For the International Year of the Organ, we are inviting Tenth organists of the past and present (not the future) to play. They include Joel Krott, Evelyn Larter, Douglas Wimer, Paul Reese, Jeremy Strong, Timothy Shaw, and Paul Jones.

Paul tells me that there will be a wide variety of musical styles. (Don't quote me, but I think he is doing the bossa nova.)

MVP

Phil Ryken received a top priority phone message during our meeting. Albert Pujols has won the NL MVP award. Phil wants to remind all Phillie fans who think the award should go to Ryan Howard because he led the Phillies into the World Series, that Howard won the award two years ago when Pujols led the Cardinals to the Series, as well. To argue otherwise is vanity and a striving after the wind.

The three December meetings will include a light dinner before the time of study. For more information or to RSVP contact the Duggans at 215-222-7947 or email syduggan@verizon.net.
